An effective meridian tapping area for deep issues like those involved in autoimmune disorders is at the “Heart Center”.
To access this area you place your index finger at the Thymus Point (in the center of your upper chest, along the central sternum) and then put the middle finger two or three inches below that, (where a woman’s cleavage would be,) then the other two fingers directly below that in a vertical line, right on the sternum, on the middle of the ribcage between the breasts. [If you are female and wearing a bra, make sure the tapping can actually get to the bone. Not necessarily skin to skin, but if there’s a bra that’s being held away from the sternum with strong elastic, it may cause a bouncing off of the location rather than a grounded tap. In this case you may be getting some energetic benefit, but probably not getting all that you might if you had a different kind of bra or no bra.]
Practitioners may use this point while people are still giving their history. If emotion comes up immediately when thinking of a time of life, situation, person – anything that’s heartfelt, or holds deep emotion, then this area is a good place to start tapping. Whenever you are working on any old issue coming from a deep place in the subconscious or the emotional body, it is a very good starting place that can be used regularly with great success.
It is best used when you are thinking of or telling a story or sifting back through memories, or you are in the center of a wave of emotion. Allow yourself to feel the emotion and then lead yourself through parts of your history or story that hold charge. Scan your feelings and go more deeply into these while tapping at the Heart Center. Sometimes this is the only area that needs to be used in an entire session – with great results.
This exercise may take several sessions to complete the steps listed. Do not try to take on too much at once. Go at your own pace and focus on the aspects that you can, clearing them as you go. Try to complete one step at a time, feeling the issues while tapping until the feeling neutralizes. Gauge your energy level as you go. Then, remember to nurture yourself after performing the exercise by taking it easy and drinking lots of water for at least 24 hours. A calming Epsom salts bath is also helpful.
Focus on your own immune or autoimmune issues while tapping on the “Heart Center” area as described above.
Feel the sensations of the physical symptoms you are currently experiencing. BREATHE OUT the pain or other sensations and continue tapping here until you start to feel a lessening of the sensations. Remember to drink water between each of these tapping issues. Now go to the next line.
Think back to the beginning of when you started feeling the symptoms of your disorder. What was going on in your life then? How did the symptoms begin? How did they feel? BREATHE OUT the emotional charge and/or physical sensations and continue here until you start to feel these neutralizing. Now move on.
Replay the memories of any consultations with doctors or other practitioners where you were given “bad news” about your condition. Focus on any areas where you feel an emotional charge. BREATHE OUT the emotional charge or feelings and continue tapping here until you feel these neutralizing.
Focus on all that you have lost during this illness. You no longer have freedom in certain areas of your life. You may have lost a job or relationship or other. Remember how it used to be before this condition occurred in your life. Look for the hidden sadness, anger, resentment, grief, etc. TAP and BREATHE OUT the emotions, the loss, the angst, anything you feel.
Think of the reactions of others toward you since you started showing symptoms of this condition. Focus on any negative reactions, remarks, losses in friendships, shifts in relationships, etc. BREATHE OUT the negatives and emotional charge.
Focus now on your feelings for the future. These may be dismal or hope-filled. Either way, feel and tap. BREATHE OUT any negatives and BREATHE IN the positives.
You may wish to use this exercise several times in order to focus on different issues, memories, aspects of your life and experience with autoimmune. Each time you approach the exercise, scan for any feelings, emotional charge, inner resistance of any kind related to your condition, past, present, future. Tapping will provide positive benefits and will allow your body to feel freer to re-balance and strengthen its own self-healing mechanisms.
Also, this exercise, or even parts of it, may bring up memories, cause you to have dreams, or trigger flashbacks of memory from your subconscious mind / limbic brain / electro-magnetic bio-field. If anything seems upsetting, then use your tapping tools to just neutralize and clear the emotional charge.
You have the power to change your patterns and to let go of hurt now and for good! It is up to you to use the tools!

Clearing Early Abuse Issues Causing Autoimmune Disorders

When approaching an autoimmune case in a natural, holistic way, where an individual’s body is starting to work against itself, often there is a deep feeling of deserving to be hurt or abused – an unworthiness to be healthy.

An obvious cause that can show up in a client history is that of abuse or perceived abuse. In a very sensitive individual well-meaning discipline, scolding, criticism of any kind, among other normal family and parenting processes may be felt as personal abuse. And, abuse can come in many forms to each unique individual, so what appears normal to one person may be perceived as abusive by another.

In your early life if you ascertained or felt like some behavior toward you was abusive, then it was. And, if you saw others around you abused and you related deeply with their pain, you might have taken on their energy with the added emotion of guilt – why were they hurt and you were not? You may feel that none of you deserved better.

You may also have experienced real traumatic abuse of some kind. It could have been physical, emotional, sexual abuse that did happen, and maybe has since appeared in your life as a repeated energetic cycle. The earliest event as well as those subsequent episodes on some level might have made you feel that you deserved abuse, that you were unworthy of respect, and thus, you lost any sense of self-respect and esteem that you might have had previously.

In all of these cases your boundaries were not respected. Your territory was encroached upon. You were consciously and subconsciously made to feel bad about yourself.

This can take its toll on one’s third chakra personal power center as well as the meridians associated with that central trunk area of your body. You probably felt fear related to the abusive episodes, and if you were strong enough, you might have felt anger and resentment concerning the abuse. Looking at this profile, there seems to be a lot to work with from an energy therapy perspective.

To start taking the edge off of your inner anguish, get centered and begin to recall memories of past abuse.

As you’re thinking of a memory, start tapping at the heart center area. This is unique to my work and is a powerful tapping or holding area to connect with deep subconscious issues. Put your index finger at your Thymus Point, which is in the center of your upper chest, right in the middle of the ribcage. Then your middle finger goes where a woman’s cleavage would be and the other two fingers directly below that in a vertical line between the breasts. You’ve got your four fingers on one hand stretched out in a vertical line accessing your High Heart Chakra, Heart Chakra, and Central Meridian. Gently tap there.

Tap and feel the sensation and emotion of your trauma, abuse, disappointment, or any kind of related shame. Feel some of the residue from any of these as you tap and breathe out the charge, the heaviness, the old negativities around the memory. This was in the past. You have survived. Your future is bright and can be even better now that you are letting go of the pain of the past.

Again, you are looking at why you might be feeling bad about yourself, why the subconscious may be hanging onto this abuse-based criticism, self-hate, shame, low self-esteem, and sense of worthlessness. You’re clearing it now as you tap and feel.

Next go to Karate Chop Point. I want you to focus on any of the scenarios that I’ve drawn out for you, any early abuse that you might have experienced. Feel your emotion around this as you think about past memories and tap. You can use your own words while tapping this potent “set-up” point, using the following statements as models to bring out your feelings about the issues you wish to clear:

Even though I know I have this issue in my subconscious . . .

. . . I deeply and completely accept myself.

I know I’ve done the best I could do in every moment.

Even though this issue may be causing this autoimmune in me . . .

. . . may be causing the symptoms that are hurting me . . .

. . . may be causing my body to attack itself . . .

. . . I deeply and completely accept myself.

I know that my body is truly trying to protect me and keep me healthy.

Maybe there is some reason that the body has turned against me.

I choose to let go of that now.

There is a part of my Being that already knows why this autoimmune condition has shown up.

This part of my Being is willing to share the information with the rest of me now.

My mind and body and spirit are receiving this information and integrating it.

I am feeling grateful that this information will help me rebalance.

I am grateful that there is part of me that knows how to heal.

I am open to integrating this information in all parts of myself now.

I’m receiving and integrating this information with grace and ease.

This will help me to take better care of myself in the future.

This will help me to attract the right information and assistance so that I can get well.

This information transfer is now complete.

I will continue to receive pertinent information so that I may know how to heal.

I choose to love myself.

I choose to love myself even though others abused me.

It is good for me to love myself.

It is healthy for me to love myself.

I choose to let go of the past hurts.

I choose to get well.

It is good for me to get well.

I deserve to get well.

My body wants to get well.

God wants me to get well.

Now continue to tap on the other Classical EFT points, one-by-one, while feeling the charge of past memories of abuse. You need not say anything while tapping. Stay on each point as you feel the charge of your thoughts and memories… until you feel a shift or the charge goes down to neutral.

At the end of the session make sure to drink lots of water and take good care of yourself for the twenty-four hour period while your meridians continue to recalibrate. An Epsom Salts bath will support your continued clearing.
